MoI Spasovski holds online meeting with EU Delegation representatives

Skopje, 20 July 2021 (MIA) – As part of the regular working meetings for monitoring the implementation of activities within the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, alongside State Secretary Magdalena Nestorovska, took part on Tuesday in an online meeting with representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia, led by Nicola Bertolini, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation.
Participants in the meeting discussed ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and the EU Delegation in the implementation of IPA-funded projects, in which the Ministry is the end user, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
Bertolini expressed satisfaction with the results achieved within the implementation of the ongoing projects in the Ministry.
Talks also tackled issues related to the implementation of some of the activities within the IPA projects.
“Minister Spasovski stressed that the Ministry of Interior is ready to take on the responsibilities within its competencies, in order to ensure successful implementation of the planned activities and results, which will provide for the sustainability of the projects funded through this instrument,” reads the press release.
In addition to the projects that are currently being implemented, interlocutors also discussed the status of the IPA III program.
According to the Minister, the preparation of several projects within this program is underway, which target priorities in the area of “Internal Affairs.”
Spasovski, on behalf of the Ministry of Interior, thanked the EU Delegation for the support so far, pointing out that it is extremely important for the Ministry which is ready to make available all resources in order to fully and rationally use the financial support aimed at achieving European standards in police work, the press release adds.
