Skopje, 29 November 2021 (MIA) – Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and other MoI representatives held on Monday a working meeting with a delegation from the Macedonian Police Union, led by its president Marjan Kicev. Spasovski, the MoI said in a press release, briefed during the meeting union officials on the Ministry’s 2022 draft-budget, stressing the importance of the intended 5% salary raise for Ministry employees. He said that 63 police stations have been renovated nationwide, adding that more will be restored in 2022. The Minister also underlined the upcoming start of construction works on a police station in Skopje’s Aerodom municipality, as well as the reconstruction of the Idrizovo training center and the civil affairs department building. “Special attention was paid during reconstructions on use of environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient materials, so starting 2022 no MoI buildings will be using solid fuels for heat, saving Mden 5 million on electricity,” the press release read. Spasovski also told union representatives that police officers from several departments  will get new equipment (shoes, boots, jackets, etc.) by January 2022. Macedonian Police Union head Marjan Kicev thanked Spasovski for the Ministry’s cooperation with the union, as well as its commitment to improving the working, material, technical and operative conditions of police officers. Spasovski and Kicev also discussed other important issues for police officers and agreed that they should be resolved as soon as possible.
