Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) - The electoral process was smooth and without any major incidents. Twelve cases of taking photo of the ballot were registered, along with two cases of tearing the ballot, six reports of offering bribes and 15 reports of campaigning at polling stations. No other serious incidents or violations of the electoral process were recorded, said Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski and Additional Deputy Minister Mitko Bojmacaliev on Wednesday.

Minister Toshkovski said the Election Day was safe, peaceful and democratic.

"These elections were another test for democracy. Let me congratulate citizens who came out and fulfilled their duty, once again highlighting the country's democratic capacity and the significance of their active role in building an inclusive society," said Toshkovski.

Deputy Minister Bojmacaliev thanked Public Security Bureau Director Sasho Tasevski, who headed the central HQ and the HQs across the country, which have collected all operational information for the purpose of having a democratic Election Day.

"Let me thank the citizens, the Macedonian police, the media, and all those who made this day be fair, democratic and free," said Bojmacaliev.
