Mitsotakis - Kovachevski meeting in Athens to focus on energy stability
Athens, 12 September 2022 (MIA) - I suppose that tomorrow's discussions will produce ideas and ways that would further strengthen the stability in our region energy-wise as well, Greek government spokesman Yiannis Economou said Monday at a regular press briefing when asked by MIA's correspondent about Tuesday's meeting of the prime ministers of North Macedonia and Greece in Athens.
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski will head a government delegation during a day-long working visit to Athens, where he will hold talks with his Greek counterpart Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
We are always prepared to support the countries in the region, Economou told the briefing.
"We always strive to enhance relations with our neighbors, including the Republic of North Macedonia, under a condition - that the agreed in the international treaties is respected. Energy is the greatest issue all nations in Europe are facing. Our country has helped countries in the region energy-wise. We're prepared to look into how this could be applied with other countries as well. We want to be the center of energy stability, energy security and I suppose tomorrow's discussions will produce ideas and ways how to further strengthen energy stability in our region," Economou said responding to MIA's question.
