Skopje, 17 July 2014 (MIA) — Defense Minister Vladimir Misajlovski met Wednesday with Turkish Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy and Defense Attaché Colonel Recai Yılmaz.

According to a Ministry of Defense press release, meeting participants stressed that the bilateral defense cooperation was at a high level and that cooperation would continue with the same intensity.

Misajlovski thanked the Turkish allies on their support as part of NATO toward modernizing the army and also for the ongoing contribution to the country since its independence, including helping train army personnel in the Turkish military college, military medical academy, NATO Center of Excellence as well as participating in a large number of military exercises.

Misajlovski also expressed immense gratitude for the Turkish help in dealing with the wildfires across the country. "This is how true friends act," the release quotes the defense minister as saying at the meeting. mr/
