Skopje, 3 October 2024 (MIA) – Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski and Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, had a video chat with the country’s three officers serving in UNFIL, the UN-led mission in Lebanon.

“Our officers said that they feel good, that morale amongst all servicemen in the mission was high and that they have been completing their tasks. The Macedonian staff officers alongside the members of the armies that are part of UNIFIL have been monitoring the security situation on the southern border in Lebanon as well as security across the region,” said the Defense Ministry. 

Actively contributing to the UN mission in Lebanon, North Macedonia has deployed two staff officers serving in the Italian contingent in Chama in Lebanon and one staff officer in the UNIFIL command in Naqoura, Lebanon.
