Minors admitted to hospital yesterday now stable, confirmed presence of psychoactive substances

Skopje, 13 July 2024 (MIA) - The presence of psychoactive substances has been confirmed in the four minor patients who were admitted to the Toxicology Clinic in Skopje. The presence of alcohol has been ruled out, head of the Toxicology Clinic Andon Chibishev told MIA after four minors were admitted to the Clinic in serious condition on Friday.

"All four patients are now conscious, in an improved state of health, with stable vital parameters. They have no serious injuries. Intensive treatment and supervision continues," said Chibishev.

Previously he told MIA that the minors are aged between 14 and 17, and were admitted with impaired consciousness.

In response to a reporter's question on the investigation and whether anything has been established in relation with the case, the Public Prosecutor's Office said additional information to the public will be available at a later time.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said it has received a report on Friday that a person identified by the initials D.Gj. (40) has been physically attacted by a minor in the yard of his house in Skopje. Immediately after receiving the report, police officers from the Skopje police went to the scene of the incident, where they found four minors, two of whom were unconscious and had consumed alcohol and psychotropic substances, regarding which additional expertise is to be carried out.

The minors were taken to the Toxicology Clinic with an ambulance vehicle.

A public prosecutor has examined the scene of the incident, and the police detained D.Gj. An investigation is underway on Saturday, in coordination with a public prosecutor, and measures are being taken to clear up the case.
