Skopje, 20 December 2024 (MIA) – Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, who is leading an Interior Ministry delegation on an official visit to Turkey, met Friday with the Defense Industry Agency director Haluk Görgün and its leadership.
Interlocutors discussed the possibility of cooperation at a high level with the aim of modernization, increasing and strengthening the capacities of the Macedonian police, especially in the application of modern technological solutions for border surveillance, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
"There are a significant number of Turkish companies within the agency engaged in the production of weapons, aircraft, drones, and a number of modern systems in the field of security and defense, which are entirely produced in Turkey. We visited renowned companies such as the Tusaş Engine Industries, Aselsan, and others, where we were learned about their work and products, as well as several Turkish police departments familiarizing ourselves with practical application of their products in ensuring citizens' safety. We are building a modern and equipped European police force that will provide security for every citizen, because the functionality of the security system is a prerequisite for the functioning and progress of the rule of law and the well-being of its citizens," Toshkovski noted.
Minister Toshkovski also visited the Turkish police academy and met with its director, discussing the enhancement of cooperation with the Ministry of Interior's Training Center, with an emphasis on continual training and supporting its capacities. ssh/ik/
