Minister Toshkovski meets Czech Ambassador Ludva

Skopje, 29 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski held on Monday a working meeting with the Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Ludva. 

Interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the long-standing excellent cooperation, with an emphasis on the partnership between the two ministries, which in recent years, especially during the migration crisis, as well as the period after, has proven to be of great importance, especially in the area of ​​modernizing the capacities of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry said in as press release. 

"Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski expressed gratitude both for the support and cooperation through numerous donations to improve the capacities of the employees of the Ministry of Interior, as well as for the support provided by sending Czech police officers to our border to deal with illegal migration in the period from December 2015 to April 2023, which resulted in a decrease in the intensity of migration flows," the press release adds. 

Ambassador Ludva pointed out that the country is extremely important in maintaining security in this part of Europe, expressing hope that cooperation will further improve in the future with a common focus on further deepening it.

"Bilateral agreements between the two ministries are in the area of security, technical cooperation, readmission, fight against crime and implementing joint initiatives to resolve current security challenges," reads the press release.
