Minister Saliu to present projects benefiting Roma community at donor conference

Skopje, 21 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister for the Integration of Roma, Shaban Saliu, said Thursday that he is set to present four projects for improvement of the life of the Roma community, part of the Roma Inclusion Strategy 2022-2030, at today's donor conference attended by more than 30 embassies.

Minister Saliu said one of the projects is the construction of 1,001 homes across 15 municipalities, intended for Roma who do not have a home or live in improvised objects.

The second project is the construction of a cultural center for the Roma community, including a museum promoting the traits of the Roma community.

"An amateur theatre that could later turn into a professional one can be part of this center. It can also serve as a hub for poetry lovers, as well as a language school for pre-school children and for those interested in IT skills," Saliu told a press conference.

The third project is related to training for the Roma community to advance their prospects for future employment, whereas the fourth is the digital involvement of Roma people, so they compete in the labor market.
