Skopje, 7 March 2022 (MIA) – Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska met Monday in London with Sir Stuart Peach, UK Special Envoy to the Western Balkans, for talks on security-related developments in Europe. “The fact that North Macedonia for almost two years is a NATO ally has been one of the key tools to maintain security and stability in the region. Security in the Western Balkans is stable, which also remains our commitment,” said Petrovska. The Minister called for immediate end to the military assault against Ukraine, saying North Macedonia fully supports the country, the Defence Ministry said. “In the context of current security-related developments in Europe, Sir Peach said that it shouldn’t be allowed outstanding issues to remain in the Western Balkans and to leave the region exposed to external influence,” said the press release. On Tuesday, Minister Petrovska is scheduled to have a meeting with British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace.
