Skopje, 15 July 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski met with Eastern Planning Region mayors to discuss the needs of their municipalities and ideas for projects that would improve the living standard of the locals, according to an official press release.

Minister Perinski said the mayors were ready to implement sustainable projects that would develop their municipalities.

He informed them of the funding to be available after the national budget is revised as well as of the application procedures. He also encouraged them to apply with quality project proposals and complete project documentation, the release said.

"Always take into account the priority needs of the citizens because the most important thing is that they be satisfied with the results," Perinski said, adding that municipalities needed to be developed in order to reduce emigration.

Project proposals discussed at the meeting included the construction of a new ring road in Shtip and a new local road between Delchevo and the village of Bigor as well as regulating two riverbeds in Vinica. mr/
