Skopje, 30 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski met Tuesday with the  Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Kilian Wahl, discussing continuing cooperation with the aim of improving normative solutions and the capacities of municipalities for more efficient work, the Ministry of Local Self-Government said in a press release.

The meeting confirmed OSCE’s support is important for the Ministry of Local Self-Government in improving the system of local self-government.

Minister Perinski said that the Government and Ministry are especially committed to the development of municipalities, which by the end of the year will result in a concrete financial support for the realization of capital projects. Meanwhile, they will work on improving the system for local self-government, primarily in order to improve the quality of services for citizens.

"I expect cooperation between the Ministry of Local Self-Government and OSCE, including local authorities, to result in concrete solutions in the interest of citizens. We will realize strategic priorities for a stable, democratic, inclusive, and equitable development. I believe what the realization of planned activities will strengthen the institutional and democratic capacity for managing processes on a local level," Perinski said. ssh/ba/
