Minister Nikoloski attends Southeast Europe Connectivity Forum in Thessaloniki
- The government’s investment plans for the development of infrastructure and modern infrastructural systems are expected to be presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski as he takes part in the second Southeast Europe Connectivity Forum, held in Thessaloniki on Tuesday and Wednesday, MIA’s Athens correspondent reports.
Athens, 22 October 2024 (MIA) – The government’s investment plans for the development of infrastructure and modern infrastructural systems are expected to be presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski as he takes part in the second Southeast Europe Connectivity Forum, held in Thessaloniki on Tuesday and Wednesday, MIA’s Athens correspondent reports.
Nikoloski will put an emphasis on the construction of a road network and a high-speed rail along Corridor 10, being a precondition for having a quality connection with the Thessaloniki port and fast transport of goods and services, Nikoloski’s office has said.
According to the official agenda, the Minister will take part in a panel with the chairman of the Hellenic Business Association in North Macedonia.
“Speakers include Aleksandar Nikoloski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of North Macedonia and Aris Vlachos, Chairman of the Hellenic Business Association in North Macedonia, who are expected to analyse the perspectives of combined transport in Southeast Europe. The participation of Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras is of special interest as regards the role of infrastructure as a catalyst for economic development of the region,” the forum organizers say.
According to them, the forum aims at highlighting the key aspects of the future of transport and infrastructure in the region.
On the sidelines of the event, Minister Nikoloski is expected to have bilateral talks with Greek Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Christos Staikouras, Christos Stylianides, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, and Ioannis Tsaras, Chief Executive Officer of ThPA S.A. - Port of Thessaloniki.
