Minister Murtezani meets Bulgarian Ambassador Angelov

Skopje, 16 August 2024 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani held a farewell meeting Friday with the Bulgarian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Angel Angelov, whose term as Ambassador in the country is set to end. According to the Ministry of European Affairs, the meeting focused on “the bilateral relations and modalities for future cooperation.”
“Minister Murtezani stressed the importance of maintaining goodneighborly relations with Bulgaria, especially through the INTERREG IPA Cross Border Cooperation Programme, cofinanced by the European Union. This programme has enabled significant joint projects that contributed to the creation of sustainable and reliable relations between crossborder regions,” the Ministry said in a press release.
The meeting also noted the potential for the continuation of cooperation, including strategic initiatives, such as the planned opening of the Klepalo/Strumjani border crossing.
“Both sides affirmed their commitment to further cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including exploring opportunities for cooperation within the frameworks of reforms related to the EU. Minister Murtezani wished success in the Ambassador’s future activities,” the Ministry said.
