Skopje, 28 March 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski has held separate meetings with Belgrade-based Canadian Ambassador Michelle Cameron and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ambassador Matthew Lawson.
Mucunski and Cameron highlighted excellent cooperation between the two countries on a multilateral level, especially within NATO. Talks focused on deepening bilateral cooperation, especially in terms of the economy, investments and education. The two particularly emphasized the need to encourage Canadian investments and support initiatives towards development of trade and entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
At the meeting with Ambassador Lawson, Minister Mucunski thanked the UK for its solidarity after the Kochani tragedy, especially the emergency medical team sent to support Macedonian healthcare institutions.
Such support, reads the press release, was deemed extremely important for the long-term medical care and treatment of the injured patients.
"The meeting was part of the regular communication and coordination with the United Kingdom and focused on exploring future activities within the Partnership, Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the two countries. Both sides stressed the need to dynamize the work of the PTCA Joint Committee, through regular annual meetings," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade adds.
Minister Mucunski reiterated gratitude for the UK's ongoing support in implementing North Macedonia's foreign policy priorities, including through numerous projects in the country. He highlighted the level of development of bilateral relations, noting that planned activities will be a strong confirmation of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
