Minister Minchev meets Serbia’s Public Administration and Local Self-Government Minister Žarić Kovačević

Skopje, 3 October 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev held a meeting Thursday with the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Serbia, Jelena Žarić Kovačević, during which they spoke about cooperation aimed at improving the public administration systems in both countries.
According to the Ministry of Public Administration, the meeting noted the excellent relations between the two countries, voicing their joint commitment to the deepening of cooperation in governance and administrative reforms.
To that end, both parties agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the coming period that would formalize the exchange of good practices, joint initiatives and expertise in public administration.
“The signing of this memorandum of cooperation will mark a new chapter in the partnership between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia in the area of public administration, while at the same time highlighting our joint goal, which is the modernization of the public administration and upgrading and strengthening the processes and capacities that arise from it,” Minchev said.
Minister Žarić Kovačević confirmed the initiative, underscoring the importance of regional partnerships in encouraging reforms that will improve the delivery of public services to the citizens in both countries.
“Through regular consultations and meetings, the two ministers will work on concrete processes that will contribute towards an effective implementation of public administration reform, which will be a part of the memorandum for cooperation,” the Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release.
