Minister Minchev meets OECD, SIGMA representatives 

Skopje, 28 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev held a meeting Thursday with Bagrat Tunyan, Senior Policy Advisor at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Gregor Virant, Head of the SIGMA Programme, during which they discussed ongoing reforms in the public administration and opportunities for future cooperation over their implementation.

The meeting focused on the priorities and commitments of the Ministry of Public Administration, especially the draft laws and strategies aiming to improve the efficiency and professionalism of the public institutions. 

According to the Ministry of Public Administration, Minchev stressed the significance of public administration reform for the improvement of the quality of public services and building greater trust in the institutions. He voiced gratitude for the continued expert assistance provided by OECD and SIGMA and noted that the Ministry remains fully committed to the modernization of the public sector and the improvement of its efficiency. 

The Head of the SIGMA Programme, Virant, presented his recommendations and views about the challenges faced by the Ministry, especially in the realm of managing the public service and strengthening administrative capacities.

Interlocutors highlighted the opportunity to continue and enhance cooperation, the regular exchange of experiences, as well as the monitoring of progress in the realization of key reforms.

The meeting was assessed as an important step towards the promotion of the public administration and the encouragement of long-term partnerships on reforms.
