Karbinci, 12 September 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski is in continual communication with mayors and directors of public utility enterprises over high electricity bills that bring into question their liquidity. “The liquidity of public enterprises has been put into question but we can only forward their concerns because the ministry’s funds for the municipalities stand at only EUR 1,5 million,” said Minister Milevski. He added that the Government should decide over the support provided to municipalities and public enterprises, whereas the Finance Ministry should either provide funds or offer some benefits so they survive the energy crisis. “Nevertheless, the fundamental cell of communication of the state with the citizens is the municipality. We should find a mechanism together so that citizens’ requests are met, because the crisis will hit us all, especially the people,” said Milevski.
