Skopje, 18 July 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska met Thursday with Italian Ambassador Andrea Silvestri and discussed bilateral cooperation in education and science.

According to an official press release, meeting participants welcomed the good bilateral relations as well as taking new initiatives.

"Janevska briefed the ambassador on the ongoing priority changes in primary and secondary education as well as upcoming activities in line with the new agenda of the Ministry of Education and Science," the release says.

Talks focused on Macedonian students having the opportunity to study the Italian language as an elective subject in primary and secondary education and the possibility of hiring more Italian language teachers, the release adds. mr/
