Skopje, 26 November 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Education and Science Mila Carovska on the occasion of this year’s campaign to eliminate violence against women and girls called for joint actions noting that no one should keep silent.
The new concept, she said, has been designed to raise the awareness of pupils from an early age to recognize and be vocal against all forms of violence, including violence against women and girls.
“The speak up and act against gender-based violence strengthens the fight and makes us stronger and to rally around in winning this important battle,” Carovska said, adding the Education Ministry has been committed to raising awareness of students about gender-based violence and all forms of violence in all segments of society and by introducing the new concept to promote tolerance, respect of diversities and equality.
In her message on the 16 days of activism against violence against women, Minister Carovska said she was confident that the introduction of sex education in ninth grade will have positive influence in the fight to eliminate gender-based violence.
