Minister Andonovski discusses digital infrastructure at meeting with ‘Rumble’ representatives

Skopje, 23 July 2024 (MIA) - Concrete opportunities for cooperation and investments in the digital sector in Macedonia were the key topics discussed by Minister of Digital Transformation Stefan Andonovski, the head of the Free Zones Authority Goce Dimovski, representatives of the academic community and representatives of the company Rumble on Tuesday, the Ministry of Digital Transformation said in a press release.
According to the Ministry, interlocutors also discussed the possibility of partnering with Rumble to construct modern national data centers “that would lead to improved privacy protection standards and data security”.
“Cooperation in terms of expanding digital infrastructure and connectivity was also discussed, with the goal of Macedonia becoming a leader in the region in terms of the availability of fast broadband internet,” the Ministry said.
At the meeting, Minister Andonovski said the Government’s priorities are completely aligned with the proposed areas of cooperation.
“Our vision for more accessible electronic public services, availability of fast broadband internet, secure data and improved digital infrastructure can be significantly upgraded through cooperation with Rumble. The experience of Chris Pavlovski and his team is invaluable for the efforts to accelerate our digital transformation,” Andonovski said.
In the press release, the Ministry said “Rumble has the expertise and resources that can significantly accelerate Macedonia’s progress in the digital sphere, and investments in digital infrastructure are key for our economic growth and competitiveness. Not only will cooperation with companies such as Rumble attract significant capital but will also bring the most modern technologies and knowledge to our country“.
Minister Andonovski also highlighted the role of the Macedonian diaspora in the process.
“Successful businessmen like Mr. Pavlovski serve as a bridge between Macedonia and the global tech scene. Their activity and investments are essential to our progress,” he said.
