Minchev at regional meeting in Tirana: Committed to creating modern, professional, transparent administration
- Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev participated in the OGP Western Balkans Regional Meeting taking place in Tirana, Albania, which is organized by the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and the Government of the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA).
Skopje, 14 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev participated in the OGP Western Balkans Regional Meeting taking place in Tirana, Albania, which is organized by the Open Government Partnership (OGP) and the Government of the Republic of Albania, in cooperation with the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA).
Minchev highlighted the country's achievements, as a member of the Open Government Partnership initiative since 2011, significantly contributing to promoting transparency, accountability and citizen participation in public policies, the Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release.
"It is a pleasure to be part of this regional meeting dedicated to the Open Government Partnership, an initiative that has made visible differences in our societies and is an inspiration for finding innovative solutions to the new challenges we face," stressed Minister Minchev.
As regards efforts made in the area of anti-corruption policies and building trust in institutions, Minchev pointed out that public administration reform is the basis for efficient and accountable governance.
"Our commitment is aimed at creating a modern, professional and transparent administration, where administrative officials work responsibly and are dedicated to providing quality services to citizens," said Minister Minchev.
He added that the adoption of new legal solutions is taking place through an inclusive process in cooperation with civil society and the expert community, which contributes to reducing corruption and increasing accountability.
Minister Minchev particularly mentioned the drafting of the sixth National Action Plan for the Open Government Partnership for the 2024-2026 period.
"This year, representatives from the civil and public sectors actively participated in the process of creating the National Action Plan. The plan is aimed at transparency, accountability and contains special commitments to open government, open parliament and open judiciary," the Minister pointed out.
Minchev highlighted among other the importance of continuous cooperation with civil society organizations and citizens in addressing current challenges and promoting good governance. He noted that the Government organizes regular public consultations and debates, through which opportunities are created for citizens to contribute to the processes of creating public policies.
"The Government is working to maintain a transparent and inclusive dialogue with all stakeholders, which allows for greater accountability and creativity in addressing complex challenges," the Minister said.
Minister Minchev's participation in the OGP regional meeting further confirmed the country's commitment to developing an inclusive and accountable society, through deepened cooperation with civil society and active involvement of citizens in public policies, reads the press release.
