Minchev – Props: Slovenian support for reform and modernization of administration

Ljubljana, 3 October 2024 (MIA) - Promoting public administration reform, with a special focus on upgrading the system of employees in the public sector and wages was one of the topics discussed at the meeting between Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev and his Slovenian counterpart Franc Props, held Thursday in Ljubljana.

According to the Ministry of Public Administration, both ministers exchanged experiences over ongoing efforts to modernize the public administration, improve the wages in the public sector and implement more transparent and efficient human resource management systems in the public sector.

The two ministers agreed that public administration plays a key role in ensuring good governance and delivering high-quality services to the citizens. 

Minister Minchev noted the importance of learning from Slovenia’s experiences with public administration reform, especially in areas such as wage systems based on performance and digitization of administrative processes.

“Slovenia’s successful modernization of its public administration provides valuable lessons for the Republic of Macedonia while we are working on implementing similar reforms. Our goal is to create a more efficient, transparent and civil administration,” Minchev said. 

Minister Props highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and sharing knowledge in the process of reforming the public administration.

“I welcome the launched activities by the Macedonian Ministry of Public Administration and we aready to continue and promote our cooperation. Working together, we can develop innovqative solutions for current challenges, especially in human resources and public administration wage reforms,” Props said.
