Miladinov Brothers library to host book launch for Jurcheva’s new poetry collection

Skopje, 16 December 2022 (MIA) — Skopje’s Miladinov Brothers City Library will host a book launch for "Our Unfading Fire” (Sovremenost, 2022) by Irena Jurcheva.

The book is Jurcheva’s second poetry collection. Verica Mukoska will speak about the work, and Katerina Gogova and Sofija Todoroska will read excerpts.

Jurcheva’s poetry is “subtly but fully directed toward the individual’s creative human fire amid this life offered or imposed by the ‘world around us’ or Sartre's hell toward the individual, the creator, the human whose scream at the endpoint is the drop making the cosmic cup overflow, while being created, revived and destroyed in its own, only, Heraclitean eternally living Fire kindled by measure and extinguished by measure," according to Mukoska.

Irena Jurcheva (b. 1982, Belgrade) holds a master's degree in Translation and Interpretation from the Faculty of Philology in Skopje. She released her poetry debut, "Secrecies," in 2017. She is also the author of two short story collections and more than 15 book translations. mr/
