Mickoski urges diaspora to vote at upcoming elections
- The coming period will be full of challenges and we need greater mobilization of the diaspora to come out and vote at the presidential and parliamentary elections, because they are crucial for Macedonia's future, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski on Saturday.
Skopje, 3 February 2024 (MIA) - The coming period will be full of challenges and we need greater mobilization of the diaspora to come out and vote at the presidential and parliamentary elections, because they are crucial for Macedonia's future, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski on Saturday.
Mickoski, party vice-president Aleksandar Nikoloski and executive board member Dragan Kovachki are paying a two-day visit to Switzerland, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release.
"What I heard from the people here is their dissatisfaction from the way the SDSM-DUI government treats the diaspora and the lack of mechanisms to respond to their requirements and needs, barriers for investments in Macedonia, as well as the enormous corruption levels in state institutions," said Mickoski.
He said the incumbent authorities have left behind a devastating problem with the replacement of passports for Macedonian citizens, adding a couple of years would be required for the process to be completed.
"We are in Geneva today to meet with presidents of many VMRO-DPMNE committees across Europe. People are motivated, love their homeland and prepared to do their best so that we jointly defeat the SDSM-DUI coalition," added Mickoski.
The VMRO-DPMNE delegation will also visit Lausanne and Triengen.
