Skopje, 30 March 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition "Your Macedonia" held a convention on Saturday to present the list principles and the candidates for MPs in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for May 8.  

Hristijan Mickoski will be the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition list principal in the first election district, Vlado Misajlovski will head the list in the second election district, Dragan Kovachki in the third, Aleksandar Nikoloski in the fourth, Gjorgija Sajkoski in the fifth, and Dafina Stojanovska in the sixth.  

Mickoski said that the VMRO-DPMNE led coalition is taking part in the upcoming double elections with people of integrity, whom he strongly believes in.

"I guarantee their honesty and intentions to do more for our common home - Macedonia," said Mickoski.    

He sent a message to the candidates for MPs that the responsibility is huge, and they should not disappoint the people.

"I will not let the years spent restoring trust be wasted. You will have me personally as an opponent if at any time, and at any place you take any step that will cause harm and pain to anyone. There is no failure, and we are moving forward towards the changes we must bring about," Mickoski pointed out.

He stressed that the upcoming elections will be historically important and crucial not only in the sense of fixing things, but also as a chance to send a message to those who have been looting the country for decades.

"The victory will not only be ours, but to all the people who will decide to go to the polls and make a decision not for us, but for themselves, for their families and their future. Things have never been more difficult, but neither clearer. Macedonia must stay where it belongs, and it must finally start functioning the way the citizens want it to. Backed by the enormous strength of the people, starting today we are taking the final act of making Macedonia ours again, yours again, to every decent person who decides to fight for their future," Mickoski said. 

He added that he has nothing against the Albanians and the other ethnic communities in the country, but he is against DUI stealing and ruining the country. He said that DUI must go in opposition and all those who have committed crimes must be punished.

"Even the Albanians in Macedonia are also hostages of DUI's crime. Even they live as hard as the Macedonians, Turks, Vlachs, Serbs and all other citizens. They must be held accountable for the crime. I am aware that Ali Ahmeti and those few around him know exactly what they have been doing these past 20 years. They have only one goal, and that is to rob, humiliate, destroy and embarrass Macedonia," said Mickoski. 

As regards SDSM, Mickoski said the party was aware that it will be defeated in the upcoming elections and it neither has a plan nor program.

He added that the political opponents were telling citizens stories about joining Europe sooner, just to cover up the corruption and sell-out of the country.

"While they are trying to scare you with lies and empty words that we were against joining the European Union, whereas they were in favor of joining the European Union, or that you have the best living conditions in Southeast Europe, Macedonia is sinking more and more, while they are getting outrageously rich," Mickoski said, adding that in the elections, he will not deal with dirty campaign by the opponents, noting that such campaign has been carried out against his family for the past six years. 

He pointed out that VMRO-DPMNE's Platform #1198 contains 1198 projects that will solve citizens' problems. This program, he said, is designed to guarantee the full functioning of the system, protection of national interests, quality education and a modern health system. Among other things, he announced completion of the Kichevo-Ohrid highway, reconstruction of railway Corridor 10, procurement of trains, as well as establishment of a special fund for top science.
