Mickoski tells Ahmeti to accept fact he is in opposition

Ohrid, 6 October 2024 (MIA) - Accept the fact that you are in opposition, reform the party and clear out the criminals from your ranks, Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski told DUI leader Ali Ahmeti on Sunday.

Mickoski told the 33rd annual conference of the VMRO-DPMNE youth union in Ohrid that Ahmeti should demonstrate vision through projects and ideas, as well as that he respects Macedonia.

"Reform your party because a reformed DUI is important for the country. Clear out the criminals from your ranks, we will help you in this. This is our homeland. Do you see how many Albanians are emigrating on a daily basis? More than 100,000 Albanians have moved out of the country over the past 20 years. Who is responsible for this? We do not have time to squabble in public and stir tensions. Give your contribution through proposals and projects. I promise that we will accept everything that leads to progress and development of the country. It is not good that you bring up ethnic themes when in opposition while declaring to be a green party when in power," said Mickoski.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader also called on all opposition parties to overcome vanities and the need to criticise everything, and instead present proposals for creation of even better solutions.

"Let's overcome divisions together and unite through ideas and projects. Not everything we do is wrong. Overcome your vanity and the need to criticise at all costs. For starters, support measures for the youth and then put forward your own measures. If possible, I promise we will accept them," stressed Mickoski.
