Mickoski says he doesn't expect AA's entry in gov't to change anything
Skopje, 8 February 2023 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said he doesn't expect the Alliance for Albanians (AA) entry in government to change things, but to worsen them.

"Citizens are losing hope that things can improve. I suppose it's the decision of the AA leadership and the SDSM-DUI coalition, and if there are no snap elections in the upcoming 10 months or so, things won't change, but they will get worse. We will have a few richer politicians and the people won't get anything," Mickoski said Wednesday in Petrovec municipality.

The VMRO-DPMNE leader also noted that there will be no elections in May if the new government composition has 61 MPs.

"When I was talking about elections in May, I was referring to the last time that is logically justified for elections. If you organize them in the fall and then follow them up with presidential elections a few months later, the question is, is this responsible? Macedonia cannot afford two election rounds. It's logical to hold the elections in May. Whether or not they'll happen is up to Kovachevski's proposal to Parliament with a new composition. If there are 61 MPs to vote automatically, there will be no elections in May. If not, then we need snap elections immediately. VMRO-DPMNE is ready for elections on May 14 and 21. If we calculate this in days, there is no caretaker government for 100 days, which is fine and we are ready for that as well, as long as we save the citizens," Mickoski said. dk/nn/
