Mickoski: Sali, Hoxha to join cabinet; no reshuffling VMRO-DPMNE, ZNAM ministers as of yet

Skopje, 1 December 2025 (MIA) — There will be no government shake-up, with ministers from the ranks of VMRO-DPMNE and ZNAM keeping their posts for now and only Worth It ministers being reshuffled, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Monday evening in an interview with MTV's 360 Degrees.
Mickoski confirmed an earlier announcement that Bekim Sali was tapped as next Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of European Affairs and that Muhamed Hoxha would helm the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning following Izet Mexhiti's departure from the post.
Asked if he was happy with Azir Aliu as Minister of Health, Mickoski said there was always room for improvement, but Aliu was doing a decent job.
Talking about his role as VMRO-DPMNE's leader, Mickoski said if he were to be reelected at the upcoming congress, that would be his third and final term as party president.
"I have two sons, VMRO-DPMNE is literally like a third child to me. Yes, this is my last term as VMRO-DPMNE's president if I receive the support of the delegates," he said, adding that he did not intend to support any initiatives to change the party's statute.
Mickoski also said he was set to run unopposed.
"I believe I will be the only candidate," he said, adding that he expected his third term "to be marked by major reforms that will lead to a better life for the country's citizens."
He also predicted another landslide VMRO-DPMNE victory in the next elections.
Asked if he might run for head of state at some point, Mickoski said he had no such ambitions. mr/
