Skopje, 15 August 2024 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, when asked for a comment on a former KLA member’s escape from house arrest in the country, said that the prosecution and the court should be left to act. This is yet another reason to reform the judiciary, he noted.

“I don’t know what the sources are,” Mickoski stated when asked about the sources cited by the media that the former KLA member, Blerim Ramadani, has fled to Kosovo.

Asked how the incident may affect the county’s relations with Serbia, the PM said his government aimed at building good neighbourly ties with all the countries in the region.

According to him, what has been happening in the judiciary is yet another reason suggesting that it needs to undergo reforms.

“Two-percent public trust results in myriad of questions and dilemmas: why it is happening, how and why such decisions are made, why someone is escaping, etc. This is yet another reason to start with reforms in the judiciary,” PM Mickoski said calling on experts to submit their ideas to the government by the end of the month.

The government, he stressed, will have to start implementing the reforms, for which we were elected by the citizens.

Earlier, the Interior Ministry confirmed to MIA that Ramadani escaped from house arrest after being placed in the home of his relatives in the country.
