Skopje, 7 January 2026 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski extended his Christmas greetings to the Orthodox faithful on Wednesday.
“Christmas is a day when silence speaks louder than words. A day when we are reminded of what truly holds us together: family, faith, solidarity, and mutual respect. The birth of Christ brings us back to the essential values that have shaped the character of our people for centuries. Christmas reminds us that the strength of a society begins at home, that a stable nation is built upon healthy families, and that we safeguard the future through care for the youngest,” Prime Minister Mickoski said in his greeting.
At a time of rapid change and numerous challenges, Mickoski said Christmas urges reflection and a return to the values of solidarity, mutual care, and responsibility toward one another.
“Families and children hold a special place. Caring for families means caring for the future of Macedonia. Children deserve security, attention, upbringing, and an environment in which they grow with clear values, a sense of belonging, and hope. It is our duty to create conditions in which every child has the chance for a dignified life, and every family receives support and respect. Christmas is also a reminder of the importance of unity. Only as a community that respects, listens, and helps one another can we meet the challenges and build a stable, just, and secure country. To all Orthodox Christians, I wish peace in your homes, health and tranquility in your families, and strength to move forward with even greater responsibility and dignity,” the Prime Minister said.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister attended the Christmas liturgy held at Skopje’s St. Clement of Ohrid church.
Speaking to journalists after the liturgy, the PM wished the citizens health, happiness, and peace.
