Skopje, 8 December 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said discussions are under way with coalition partner 'Worth It' over the Law on the Use of Languages, which is on the agenda of a Constitutional Court's session scheduled for Wednesday, December 11, but he added that no one should intervene with the Court regarding this "ongoing procedure".

He said that "nothing will happen on Wednesday", because "any action" of the Constitutional Court is preceded by preparatory sessions. According to him, DUI's goal is division on ethnic grounds and there will be such attempts in the future by that political party.

"We see that the only topic with which the Democratic Union for Integration is present in public is to make a certain division on an ethnic basis, they only treat ethnic issues, because they cannot attract attention in any other way, nor impose a topic, or attract people who will support them. They tried with the "green agenda", you all saw how that ended, and now when in opposition they have returned to the only topic that may bring some result for them," Mickoski told reporters at a press conference on Sunday. 

He asked all citizens to remain calm because, he said, "this is an isolated group of former high-ranking government officials for whom there are well-founded suspicions of committing huge crime, which will soon begin to be revealed, as of today". 

He said he expects DUI and its political leadership to "continue political manoeuvres on the same topic" in the coming period.

In response to a reporter's question on whether the Law on the Use of Languages ​​"can go back to Parliament to be further improved," Mickoski said the procedure has begun and it "must have an end, whatever that end may be".

"Every procedure must have an end. We cannot say that it is not valid. Only those who submitted it can withdraw it, or the Constitutional Court can reject it as irrelevant. And only then can we discuss the how's and the what's, and enter the zone of assumptions. Until then, please, do not worry, the security situation is under control. There will be attempts, from these same people, we know exactly who they are, we know exactly which groups they communicate with and how they communicate, we know exactly everything. Both us and our strategic partners, because we are not alone in this matter. We also receive information from there, we give information, we exchange information. And we will defend ourselves and defeat them," said Mickoski.
