Mickoski meets 4iG owner: €100 million to be invested in Macedonia’s third mobile operator
- The second day in Davos started with a meeting with the owner of 4iG, the company granted the license to operate as Macedonia’s third mobile operator. We discussed his plans following the payment of the funds required to obtain the license. He informed me that more than €100 million will be invested in the coming period in the development of the third mobile operator. What does this mean for citizens? Citizens will gain a new provider of mobile services, which I am confident will contribute to reducing the prices of mobile services in Macedonia, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday in a video statement from the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Skopje, 21 January 2026 (MIA) - The second day in Davos started with a meeting with the owner of 4iG, the company granted the license to operate as Macedonia’s third mobile operator.
He said they later took part in a panel with world leaders and multinational company representatives, where the key challenges facing humanity in the years ahead were discussed.
“Artificial intelligence is, of course, one of the key challenges. On its own, it is nothing more than a term. However, when you look deeper, it becomes clear that to create a society capable of making serious use of artificial intelligence in the future, several preconditions must be met. Above all, energy security is required, as data centers depend on a stable supply of electricity, as well as development. Secondly, we need IT engineers who can apply artificial intelligence for the benefit of society and citizens,” Mickoski noted in the video statement.

He further noted that, of course, the country must not stay on the sidelines of these processes, as they will define the future of humanity.
“These processes will play a leading role in the next 10, 15, 20 and 25 years. Macedonia will not remain on the sidelines, but will be an active participant in all of them,” Mickoski said.
He said their stay in Davos continues, with numerous bilateral meetings scheduled for today and more planned for tomorrow.
