Skopje, 23 October 2023 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski congratulated citizens on the occasion of October 23 – Day of the Macedonian Revolutionary Struggle. 

"October 23 is engraved in our collective memory as the date when the Macedonian people first organized themselves in an organization to fight for a free and independent state. The formation of MRO, which will later grew into and was remembered by the people as VMRO, is the symbol of Macedonian defiance, driven by the will for a better tomorrow," says Mickoski. 

Today as well, just like on October 23, 1893, we need that defiance and will for a better tomorrow, because the policies of the government rock the foundations of society, erode the country and chase people away people from their home, the VMRO-DPMNE leader adds.

"Like 130 years ago, it's time to unite under the Macedonian flag and move forward, to say no to the government that pushes us down, and to realize the dream of a prosperous state. If the formation of a Macedonian state was important to the founders of VMRO, it is important to us, their followers, that Macedonia be a prosperous country, where the law will rule and every individual will have an equal chance for success. To VMRO-DPMNE and to me personally, it is important that Macedonia progresses and reaches new heights," Mickoski pointed out.
