Skopje, 18 September 2024 (MIA) — The state will invest EUR 18 million into remodeling student dorms nationwide, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said during his visit to Skopje's Blazhe Koneski Elementary on Wednesday.

Speaking to the press after launching construction works on a new school addition, PM Mickoski said works were already under way on the two Skopje dorms.

"More than 18 million euros will be invested in the reconstruction of student dorms not only in Skopje but also in other cities where we have university campuses and centers," Mickoski said, adding that this was another of VMRO-DPMNE's election promises.

He said reconstruction works in Skopje's Kuzman Josifovski Pitu and Stiv Naumov dorms were already under way, including electricity installation, which he expected would be completed soon.

There are student dorms in Skopje, Bitola, Ohrid, Prilep, Shtip and Tetovo. mr/
