Tetovo, 15 August 2022 (MIA) – Speaking to reporters in Tetovo in regard to his views about today’s presentation of recommendations of the joint Macedonian-Bulgarian multidisciplinary commission on historical and educational issues, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said that their predictions that the country will continue to be a hostage to history due to the French proposal for overcoming the dispute with Bulgaria have come true. “Instead of talking about the 21st, 22nd century, about the future, we are talking about the medieval period, as you have seen and today, we are talking about Tsar Samoil, St. Clement, St. Naum and Ss. Cyril and Methodius and inaccurate things are said. We now need to change, i.e., censor the textbooks of children who will study in schools under pressure from Bulgaria,” Mickoski noted. He underscored that "this is a debacle of the government's policies in relation to EU politicians.” “Now I would like to see all these fine gentlemen from Europe, who have been convincing us that we will not talk about the past, to look us Macedonians in the eye and tell us that we are not talking about the past, but we are talking about artificial intelligence, we are talking about cleaner air, cleaner drinking water in Tetovo, sewage in Arachinovo, about asphalted roads, about a finished highway that will connect Kichevo and Ohrid, etc. And it is an even bigger shame that when we talk about the medieval period, not a single Macedonian university is on the list of the latest Shanghai Ranking list of the best world universities released today. It is an even bigger debacle for this regime of DUI and SDSM,” Mickoski said during his visit to Tetovo.
