Mickoski: Hungarian loan to be discussed with Macedonian Banking Association at meeting next week

Skopje, 9 November 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told journalists Saturday that he expects a meeting to be held with the Macedonian Banking Association during the second half of next week to discuss the Hungarian loan.

Asked about the loan, Mickoski said businesses won’t have higher expenses than those that have been initially stated.

Според премиерот, есенската кошничка даде резултат. Граѓаните може да ги почувствуваат ефектите, а тоа го потврдуваат и бројките.

“Businesses won’t have higher expenses than what we already announced. The Minister [of Finance] is traveling to Skopje, and I expect that next week, during the second half of the week, we will have a meeting with the Macedonian Banking Association. I will insist on attending the meeting, so I can say what I think I should say,” Mickoski said.

Three days ago, the Prime Minister told journalists that the funds from the Hungarian loan had been received, but that negotiations with the commercial banks are still ongoing over the country’s obligation towards them. Mickoski underlined that the domestic companies will receive the funds with the same conditions as the initial loan from Hungary.
