Mickoski: Gov't coalition stable, no comment on developments in opposition bloc

Skopje, 4 October 2024 (MIA) -- Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said he would rather not comment on the latest developments in the European Front opposition coalition, saying his priority as prime minister was having "a stable situation" and "excellent chemistry" as well as making the country a better place to live.

Asked to comment on Menduh Thaçi's decision to leave the European Front, Mickoski said he did not want to "put on their shoes" and comment.

"What I can say is the government coalition is stable and has a huge majority, almost a two-thirds majority in Parliament," the prime minister said.

"As to what is happening in the opposition, I would rather not put on their shoes and comment on them.

"I guess you can get more answers about what happened yesterday from the opposition themselves.

"What is important to me as prime minister is that we have a stable situation. We have excellent chemistry.

"Not necessarily all the time. It makes sense that we don't have the same opinions on some issues. After all, there are differences in any family, let alone in this sort of complex institution that is the government coalition," Mickoski said.

"But what is important is that we have a common goal, which is to create a better place to live," he told reporters at the Krivolak military training ground. mr/
