Kumanovo, 15 November 2024 (MIA) – The government’s next call for municipal support will be announced in February or March next year, depending on the preparedness of the municipalities, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Friday in response to reporters’ questions after the annual conference of the civil society organizations “Cooperation between the Government and Civil Society” held in Skopje.
Municipalities will benefit from the recent changes to the law on construction land, which exempt them from paying utility fees during the construction of schools and kindergartens.
"We adopted amendments to the law on construction land in Parliament, ensuring that all public buildings, such as state-owned schools and kindergartens, are exempt from paying utility fees," Mickoski said.
PM Mickoski said that the recently adopted amendments are expected to facilitate the construction of new kindergartens and schools, while also introducing single-shift classes, which aims to provide significant benefits for both parents and students.
He said that the government’s initiative to implement single shift classes in primary schools will offer great security for parents and help students build new friendships, socialize and exchange knowledge.
As part of the previous call, some municipalities needed to submit additional documents, with the Ministry of Local Self-Government responsible for providing relevant information.
