Mickoski: Good neighborly relations a two-way street, will lead principled policy with arguments and facts

Skopje, 22 May 2024 (MIA) - We are ready to work alongside all our neighbors. We expect them to respect our position as well, since good neighborly relations are a two-way street, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski in an interview for Ora 24, stressing that the new government won’t lead policies of “self-degradation” but that it also won’t “needlessly irritate”.

“Regarding our neighbors, we will lead a principled policy, which will be founded on arguments and facts. We are ready to argue our positions. We are ready to work alongside our neighbors, to build bridges. I invite our neighbors to work together, because we must work together, we mustn’t tear down our bridges. We expect our neighbors to respect our position as well, since good neighborly relations are a two-way street,” Mickoski said.

He said the new government wouldn’t continue the policies of the previous government which, according to him, were “policies of self-degradation, subservience, submission on one side and the destruction and robbing of their own country on the other”.

“But there also won’t be policies which needlessly irritate, policies of needless aggression, renaming of motorways, airports, monuments and so on,” the VMRO-DPMNE leader said.

In the interview, the VMRO-DPMNE leader said the citizens should feel free and comfortable, since, he said, “hope is coming, and better times are coming for us all”.

“We will protect the interests of the citizens, we will work on reforms, the fight against crime and corruption, and economic prosperity. This is precisely what all citizens in our country want – economic prosperity, better economy and a better life,” Mickoski said.
