Mickoski extends greetings over Dormition of the Mother of God and Miners’ Day

Skopje, 28 August 2023 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski extended his greetings to all Orthodox Christians over the Dormition of the Mother of God holiday, while also congratulating Miners’ Day.

“Today is the day on which we should all reflect on the Christian values that have been a part of our tradition and faith for centuries. The love for our close ones, as well as humaneness, are the foundations of our spirituality, because they teach us that we need to sacrifice a part of us, to be patient and persistent, to create a better today and a better tomorrow for ourselves, but also for the future generations. Temptations and challenges are a part of every path, but, together, we can overcome them all,” said Mickoski.

Mickoski added that “today, many Macedonian families share the difficult fate of uncertainty, poverty and stolen future. If crime and corruption take down the foundations of our home, then we must deal with them decisively. If alienation and apathy threaten us, then the shared patriotism and proactivity of each one of us, will be our response.”

In his greeting, the opposition leader also said Macedonian miners face numerous problems and difficult working conditions, noting that this must change and calling for dignified working conditions and pay.
