Mickoski expects three more investments by year-end

Skopje, 16 September 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expects three more investments by the end of the year, which, as he stated Monday, will significantly boost economic activity and positively impact GDP growth.

According to Mickoski, a new cornerstone for a Belgian-German company is expected to be laid very soon, possibly even today. He also noted that he anticipates the expansion of the capacities of companies that are already present and operating in the country.

“We, as a government, will do everything in our capacity to help, because there is no greater joy for me or for the government members than creating a new job and supporting another Macedonian citizen to stay here rather than moving abroad,” Mickoski noted.

He noted that the initial economic indicators for July and August are encouraging, including increased industrial production, with a significant contribution from the manufacturing sector.

“It is encouraging to see 3.8-4 percent growth after several months of decline, which was particularly severe in April, May and June. Now, we finally have positive signs, and I expect positive results for industrial production in August and in the following months until the end of the year,” Mickoski said.

PM Mickoski added that in the second quarter, GDP was 2.3 percent, exceeding the expectations set by many international financial institutions. “If we analyze all these data, we can see a positive movement in the economy,” he said.
