Mickoski calls for large voter turnout in second round of local elections
Demir Hisar, 22 October 2021 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski during a rally on Friday evening urged citizens to vote in large numbers in the second round of the local elections and asked PM and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev to resign right now if he had got the message citizens sent him in the first round. “Zoran Zaev says that he will resign if he loses the elections in Skopje and across the country. I say let’s help him make good on that promise on October 31. Go out and vote for change and while you do, don’t forget that you are the force that can bring change. Don’t forget your hard lives and Zaev’s bargains with our identity, the injustice of ministers living luxurious lives while the people are drowning in poverty,” Mickoski said. According to him, Zaev is lying when he says that he got people’s message. Mickoski also called on Zaev to resign immediately and take with him Health Minister Venko Filipche and Ljupcho Nikolovski, the Deputy PM in charge of fight against corruption of the most corrupt country in Europe. “If he had gotten the message, he won’t be waiting for the elections to be over and would leave right now. If he had gotten the message he would have fired Filipche and Nikolovski. The first is a Minister in a country with the highest coronavirus mortality in Europe and the second is in charge of anti-corruption yet member of the most corrupted cabinet in Europe. I’m publicly urging Zaev to resign if he heard the message,” VMRO-DPMNE’s leader said. Moreover, he told citizens that the best way to respond to bribery is to vote. “Demir Hisar has been especially resilient to attempts at bribery. Vote in large numbers to make their attempts pointless,” Mickoski stressed.
