Mickoski: Badinter rule must be respected if we want successful reforms
Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE has not given up on its demand for early elections but we have accepted the fact that citizens are currently faced with other priorities such as management of the energy and economic crisis, says party leader Hristijan Mickoski. Mickoski told 360° that once he is in a position for form a government, he would choose the coalition partner with a compatible programme. “I prefer the Albanian opposition bloc and there is one rule above all rules and wishes – the Badinter rule – which must be respected if we want to have success in the implementation of reforms,” says Mickoski. He does not reject the option of forming a broad coalition, but one that would lead to the Parliament’s dissolution. “Let’s form this broad coalition today and dissolve the Parliament tomorrow while scheduling early elections. Otherwise, cohabitation in the same government is not an option,” says Mickoski.
