Mickoski: 400,000 people who didn’t vote for Zaev and those who stayed home are no evil
Skopje, 20 October 2021 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Wednesday at the first rally of the local elections runoff that in the letter SDSM leader and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev sent to party members he insinuated that those who “didn’t vote for him are the evil.” “I don’t this so, I think the 400,000 people who didn’t vote for Zaev and the million voters who decided to stay home are no evil, they are Macedonia asking for changes and a future, united against Zaev, saying we’ve seen enough,” Mickoski stressed. According to him, if Zaev stays Prime Minister, Shilegov mayor and SDSM remains in power, it’s only a matter of time when crime and unfulfilled promises progress. The people, he added, spoke on Sunday and will speak again on October 31, when the majority chooses a new future. Mickoski stressed that voter turnout is key, noting that smear campaign should serve as warning to citizens because the ruling party wants to “bribe and pressure its way to devalue citizens’ voices.” “We must respond with massive turnout, because we’re one step away from the finish line, a victory for a new future, new beginning, new hope,” Mickoski said, asking for support from the silent majority. We, he added, are starting the runoff campaign in Centar, where changes that launched on Sunday will result in the victory of the candidate from VMRO-DPMNE’s coalition. “SDSM has been in power here for eight years. Before taking office, they promised a moratorium on construction works, new parks and solutions to traffic congestion. After eight years in power, SDSM delivered none of this. All of SDSM’s mayors have acted the same,” Mickoski noted. He stressed that he and his people don’t owe anybody and are not in business with criminals. “We only owe it to the people to stop construction works that limit their freedom and ability to lead normal lives,” said VMRO-DPMNE’s leader. He asked Centar residents to support the candidates for mayors of Centar and the City of Skopje, Natasha Kotlar-Trajkova and Danela Arsovska.
