Mickoski: 2026 to be year of reforms and realized projects

Gevgelija, 8 January 2026 (MIA) — This will be a year of reforms implemented, projects completed and facilities commissioned, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told the press Thursday after attending the commissioning of Sunflowers, a new child care center in Gevgelija.

According to him, 2026 will also be a year of major gains in important segments of the economy, including construction, energy, agriculture and education.

"This will be a year of reforms in general," PM Mickoski said.

"We have a clear plan. We have a clear agenda. I say this often: Citizens and businesses needn't worry because this government has a plan, a timeline and solutions for any potential problems I have already anticipated," he said.

Mickoski said the new child care center in Gevgelija was the fourth child care center to have been commissioned in the first eight days of 2026.

He also said there would be school renovation projects as well as construction of new school gymnasiums and swimming pools. Some, he added, would be commissioned as early as late January.

"Everything we promised, everything that was included in the Ministry of Local Self-Government's first and second calls, is now being intensely worked on and put into service," he said. mr/
