Skopje, 29 September 2023 (MIA) – For the second year running, the Media Information Agency (MIA) took part in the Media Day for high school students, organized by the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS).

As part of Media Day, MIA’s offices were visited by students from four high schools from Skopje, Kumanovo and Gostivar. 

The students had a chance to learn about the work of the Agency which produces around 400 articles and other media products daily, in three languages – Macedonian, English and Albanian.

The students were introduced to the process of creating news articles and other media products, a special focus was placed on the recognition of disinformation present in media space.

A presentation was given on how MIA’s journalists identify fake news and how, the students themselves, can recognize whether certain information available online are true or false.

As part of the seventh edition of Media Day, high school students visited several media outlets in the country, where they could learn more about the work of the media and media literacy.
