Skopje, 3 March 2026 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said Tuesday it has been working intensively on securing the proper conditions for safe evacuation of Macedonian nationals from affected areas in the Middle East.
The MFA said in a press release that plans for repatriation of Macedonian nationals from Israel via Egypt are currently being devised, using commercial flights and the Government aircraft, if necessary. When it comes to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, commercial or charter flights are considered, depending on the security and logistical circumstances.
The ministry has provided assistance for the safe return of a football player from Iran, while six Macedonian nationals staying in Israel have already secured airplane tickets from Egypt to Skopje.
The ministry is undertaking all activities for the safe return of Macedonian nationals to the country, in direct communication with friendly countries and partners and through its diplomatic-consular offices.
