MFA: Two Macedonian nationals safe in Gaza, staying in Red Crescent hospital

Skopje, 15 October 2023 (MIA) – The Macedonian embassies in Cairo and Tel Aviv are in touch with the relevant institutions in Egypt and Israel in order to evacuate a Macedonian couple currently stuck in the Gaza Strip, in the city of Khan Younis.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the Macedonian nationals are staying in a Red Crescent hospital and are currently safe.

“As a result of the mediation of our diplomatic missions, they have been placed on an official evacuation list, and they’re awaiting for the right conditions to arise for their evacuation, which largely depends on the situation on the ground, which is currently unpredictable. We are communicating with them on a daily basis, until their safe evacuation,” said the Ministry.

“In the meantime,” stressed the Foreign Ministry, “we are working to identify and collect information on other possible Macedonian nationals who could be stuck in Gaza.”

Macedonian nationals can contact the Foreign Ministry via its 24/7 line at +389 75 273 732 and +389 75 268 736, as well as the 24/7 lines of the Embassy in Tel Aviv +972-54-926-7378 and of the Embassy in Cairo +201033615542.
